I'll be adding LOTS more items soon...I just need some money to come in for more materials (like packing materials for the bath and body stuff I already have made).

June song...

As always, the new tune is at the bottom.

January
Friends - Faster Pussycat

February
Don't Fuck With Me - Love/Hate

March
Notorious - Duran Duran/It's Not Unusual - Tom Jones

April
Girl Like You - Loser

May

Paralyzer - Finger 11

June
S.O.S - Zero 1

This song is just, beautiful.  It speaks volumes about life in general and it just encompasses the whole melancholy mood I've had lately.  Yeah, Hal Sparks isn't just funny, he's an incredibly talented singer/songwriter as well.  And, I got to meet him this month, so it fits.

I completely got sucked into this song, to the point that I changed my ringer and ringback on my phone to it and everything.  Not a band I usually dig, but hell, this song is catchy.  Not much went on for me in May, so just playing this song to death made it my song of the month.

Once a month music, up to speed...

Yeah Lana, I know I slacked.  At least the LJ Spotlight reminded me of my slackerness!

I always forget to post in here!!!  I'm NOT new (ha!), I just basically forgot that I had even joined this community until it hit the spotlight (YAY LANA!!!).

So, I shall bring you up to speed on my year so far...

January
Friends - Faster Pussycat

January, though being the beginning of the year, was an ending of things for me.  I moved away from the area that was my home for my entire life so far to my "other home" in Texas.  In doing that, I had to make a painful separation from the group of friends that I had become so close to in the past few years that they had become like family.    So this song basically helped me think of them, and to know that though far away, they are still close to me.

February
Don't Fuck With Me - Love/Hate

Not your traditional ballad here...
I picked this song because this song reminds me of the biggest thing that happened to me in February.  I flew to Los Angeles to see one of my favorite bands, Love/Hate, reunite with their original members for the first time in about 15 years.  The night before the reunion concert, several of the diehard fans (myself included) that had flown in for the show were invited to attend a private party at bassist Skid's house.  One of the big highlights of that party, and that whole weekend, was the acoustic jam in the living room of Love/Hate classics, sung by all the partygoers.  "Don't Fuck With Me" was my favorite song of that jam.

March
Notorious - Duran Duran/It's Not Unusual - Tom Jones

Notorious
- This doesn't really remind me of the whole month, but rather a specific moment that reminded me of the one of the most memorable events of the month.  I just moved to Texas, and I was all set to go to my very first South by Southwest.  Not too long before the festival, I found out that some dear friends of mine were going to be playing a couple of gigs there, so I was super jazzed about getting to see them and hang out with them.  Anyway, after their sets on Saturday, we ended up going to the Viper Room party at the Apple Bar.  Got the velvet rope crossing treatment and everything.  We partied and we stayed til they shut everything down, and one of the last songs that Casper played was "Notorious", much to the happiness of my friend Chad, who adores Duran Duran and even got to tour with them a couple of years ago.  So our whole little group was crammed into this small walkway, dancing to Duran Duran while others around us were attempting to get past us to leave.  It was amusing.

It's Not Unusual - My dear honorary little brother Chad (NOT the same Chad mentioned above) got married the weekend after SXSW, so I went to Indiana for his wedding.  At the reception, the DJ played "It's Not Unusual", so I felt it was only necessary to go out on the dance floor and do the "Carlton Dance".  Most of the other remaining wedding guests and wedding party joined me in their best Carlton Banks impersonations, and it was a funny funny moment and a damn good time.  On the way home the next day, I went to Nashville to visit my friend Ann, and we curled up and watched "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" because that's our "thing", so this song only makes sense to sum up that weekend.

April
Girl Like You - Loser

This song just happened to be one I played to DEATH in the month of April.  It's one of my favorite songs because I love the groove.  It's a shame Loser broke up before this album had a chance to be released.  It was a fantastic album.  Maybe if I'm lucky, John 5 will reform the band when he's done playing with Rob Zombie.  I saw them open for Theory of a Deadman last year, and they're still one of my favorite "new rock" bands, even if they don't exist anymore.
